Munich

We build the brands and apps
Munich’s next companies
run on.

Brand systems, interface design and frontend engineering — one studio, from identity to shipped code. For the startup before Series A, the Mittelstand product that was built but never designed, and the insurer whose website is now required by law to work for everyone.

What We Build

Six disciplines.
One standard.

Everything a product needs to leave the building, from one team — at a rate a Series-A budget can carry.

Where We Work

The software we build, by sector.

A founding team of five in a converted red-brick hall in Munich’s Werksviertel, one woman sketching a product flow on a glass wall while the others turn to her, sunlight through sawtooth skylights.
S—01 · Startups & scale-ups

Shipped before the next round.

Three and a half thousand companies started here last year. Most need a brand system, a product interface and a marketing site before Series A — and can't pay Munich agency rates for all three. We're one team for the lot.

S—02 · Mobility & industrial

Software that was built, never designed.

Configurators, dealer portals, fleet tools, machine interfaces — the software the Mittelstand runs on was specified by engineers for engineers. We design it for the person who actually uses it, and hand back a system your own team can keep building.

S—03 · Insurance & finance

Onboarding people finish.

Europe's insurance capital sells products through flows most customers abandon. We build the onboarding, claims and advisor tools that get finished — and, since June 2025, that are accessible by law.

S—04 · Real estate & proptech

Inventory that sells online.

Germany's most expensive property market still moves through PDFs and phone calls. We build the owner, tenant and management portals that replace them — the same systems we run for developers in India, built for German law and German tenants.

Concept — Insurance

An insurance flow people finish.

Munich is Europe’s insurance capital, and its products are still sold through forms most customers abandon. Since June 2025 those forms must also be accessible by law. We designed an onboarding and claims flow that does both.

Accessibility

Accessible is no longer a choice.

Since 28 June 2025 the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz requires every consumer website, app, shop and banking service to meet WCAG 2.1 AA. Fines run to €100,000 — and a competitor can send the Abmahnung before the regulator ever looks. We measure every page we ship against AA. We can do the same for the ones you already have.

Audit

Accessibility audits

WCAG 2.1 AA measured page by page, with every failure specified as a fix rather than a finding.

A developer at two monitors in the evening, colour-coded code on one and the rendered interface on the other, a brass desk lamp, the dusk street and its lit windows outside.

Fix

Remediation

Contrast, focus, structure, forms and motion brought to AA inside your existing codebase, without a redesign.

Two designers in a bright sawtooth-roofed studio in front of a white wall pinned with a neat grid of interface components, one holding a tablet.

System

Accessible design systems

Tokens and components that pass by default, so the next feature your team ships is compliant before anyone checks.

A consultant sliding a bound grey report across a walnut table to a client, a tablet with a ticked checklist beside it, a brass pendant lamp, Altbau facades at dusk through the window.

Handover

Compliance handover

The documentation, the Barrierefreiheitserklärung and the test evidence a Marktüberwachung or an Abmahnung will ask for.

An advisor and an older client with reading glasses reviewing a document on a tablet beside printed contracts at an oak desk by a bright window.

Documents

Accessible documents & PDFs

Tagged, navigable, readable by a screen reader — the contracts, statements and brochures the law counts as part of the service.

Two people before a wall of glowing dashboard charts in a Munich office at blue hour, one pointing, the city lights through the window.

Ongoing

Ongoing monitoring

Quarterly re-checks as content and code change, so you stay compliant rather than having been compliant once.

For Designers in Munich

Lead it here. We'll build it.

We're looking for the first: German-speaking senior designers and design leads who can sit across the table in Munich — run discovery, present the work, own the relationship — with a studio team delivering behind them. Paid a day rate for your time, ten percent of what you bring in. No exclusivity. Three ways in.

Young designers in a glass-walled studio in Munich: one walking through with a laptop, two at a wall of sticky notes and sketches, one sketching on the table edge, two laughing — the Rathaus tower and Frauenkirche through the windows.
Route 01

Lead a project

Discovery, workshops and presentations, in German, in the room. Day rate agreed before you start.

Route 02

Bring work in

Introduce a company. We scope, price and close; you lead it, and take 10% of the fee.

Route 03

Set the standard

Portfolio reviews for the network, a presence at MCBW and Friends of Figma, published work with your name on it.

No exclusivity Day rate, not commission 10% on work you bring Publicly credited

Where We Work

One studio, five markets.

Bengaluru, Northeast India, Dubai and Denver each have their own page — the work we've done there, the people, and how to reach us. Pick a market.

Questions

Straight answers,
before the call.

The six things people in Munich ask before they write to us. If yours isn’t here, ask it.

01

Parallax is a brand, product and frontend design studio serving Munich, founded by a designer who trained in Munich. Each project gets a dedicated team built out from our Munich hub, with the lead on the ground for discovery, workshops and presentations. The studio builds brand systems, product interfaces and marketing sites for Munich's startups, mobility and industrial companies, insurers and property developers.

02

Discovery and presentations are run in English today, and in German as Munich-based leads join the studio's network. German UI copy, documentation and the Barrierefreiheitserklärung are produced with native German speakers; design files and code are delivered in English.

03

Yes. Since 28 June 2025 the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz requires consumer websites, apps, shops and banking services to meet WCAG 2.1 AA, with fines up to €100,000 and competitor Abmahnungen. Parallax measures every page it ships against AA and audits, remediates and documents existing products to the same standard.

04

Parallax publishes its prices. Foundation starts at €12,000 for a brand identity plus one digital touchpoint; Studio starts at €28,000 for a complete brand system, product UI and a frontend build. Munich agencies typically quote well above that scope-for-scope; the difference is a Bengaluru delivery team behind a Munich lead.

05

Four sectors sit at the centre of the Munich practice: startups and scale-ups that need a brand system and product UI before the next round; mobility and industrial companies with configurators and engineering tools; insurance and finance onboarding that customers finish; and real-estate and proptech portals for owners, tenants and managers.

06

The dedicated project team is built out from the Munich hub and works in your hours, with the lead on the ground for reviews and workshops; the studio continues after you log off, so the next iteration is ready the following morning. 09:00 in Munich is 12:30 in Bengaluru, so the two working days overlap until the German evening.

Tell us what you're building.

We start by questioning the brief. One call, a lot of questions, no deck — in English or German. If we're not the right studio for it, we'll say so and point you at someone who is.
