What We Build

Six disciplines.
One standard.

Brand systems, UX, UI and the frontend engineering that ships them — identity to shipped code, handed back so your team can run it without us.

Where We Work

The software we build, by sector.

A sales executive showing a young Assamese couple, the woman in a mekhela chador, the view from a new apartment balcony in Guwahati: the Brahmaputra and green hills under a soft post-monsoon sky.
S—01 · Real estate

Inventory that sells online.

High-value inventory still moves through PDF brochures, shared spreadsheets and message threads. We build the portal that replaces all three — browsable stock, live availability, partner-level pricing, and a payment flow that closes without a single phone call.

The timber reception of a hill resort near Shillong at monsoon dusk, a guest in a rain jacket checking in on her phone, a Khasi receptionist smiling, pines and mist through the tall window.
S—02 · Hospitality

Direct bookings that keep your margin.

Aggregators take a fifth of every booking because the property's own flow is unusable. We build a direct engine that guests finish — and a management interface your front desk can actually run.

A quality supervisor in a white coat at a glowing monitor in the glass-walled control room of a Sikkim pharmaceutical plant at dusk, gowned technicians on the line behind, the lights of the hillside town outside.
S—03 · Pharma

Compliance systems people can use.

Sikkim runs one of the country's densest manufacturing clusters on batch records and distributor systems built for an audit rather than a person. We build what the floor and field actually use.

Four students with laptops on the stone steps of a whitewashed campus building in Shillong on a bright morning after rain, pines and mist-covered hills behind.
S—04 · Education

Admissions students don't fight.

Admissions, records and learning systems carry the highest volume and the highest friction of any software in the region. We build the portals and dashboards that carry ten thousand students without a helpdesk queue.

Concept — Education

Admissions on a weak signal.

A student in the hills applies on a phone, on a signal that drops, and the form loses everything when it does. Then they travel to the office to ask what happened. We designed an admissions flow for ten thousand applicants that saves every step and answers its own questions.

See the concept
  • 01

TodayA form that times out and loses everything

Every answer saved on the phone, sent when the signal returns

  • 02

TodayUploads that fail on a weak signal

Documents photographed and compressed on the phone

  • 03

Today“Come to the office to check”

Status by SMS at every stage, from submitted to admitted

An unbranded concept. Outcomes on the full page are design targets, not client results.

Public Sector

Citizens don't get to choose another portal.

Which is precisely why public software should be held to a higher standard than private, not a lower one. We work with state departments, boards and missions on the systems citizens are required to use, and we hand back a design system the next vendor can build on.

A young Sikkimese officer at a bright permit counter handing a printed permit to a travelling couple, the man holding up a QR code on his phone, green hills through the window.

Permits

Tourism & permit systems

Inner-line permits, park entries and registrations, issued online instead of at a barrier in the rain.

Evening in an Assam village hall: a field officer with a tablet showing an older woman in a mekhela chador the confirmation of a scheme payment on her phone, neighbours behind, misty hills through the open door.

Welfare

Scheme & benefit tracking

Enrolment, eligibility and disbursement on one record, so a beneficiary can see where their claim actually is.

A young mother with a child on her hip at a bright citizen service centre counter in Guwahati, the clerk turning his screen towards her, people waiting calmly on timber benches, tea gardens through the window.

Service delivery

Citizen service portals

The counter, the token queue and the triplicate form, rebuilt as something a citizen can finish at home on a phone.

A designer handing a tablet with a grid of interface components to a senior woman officer and her colleague under a pendant lamp in a Shillong meeting room, the hillside town lit at dusk outside.

Handover

Design system handover

Components, tokens and documentation the next vendor inherits, so the next procurement cycle doesn't start from nothing.

A district officer and a colleague looking together at a laptop dashboard at a bright window desk in a whitewashed Guwahati office, green hills and mist outside.

Operations

Internal dashboards

The screens a department actually runs on, built for the officer reading them at 9am rather than for the annual report.

A young man in a wheelchair on a lit ramp to the glass doors of a public building in Gangtok at dusk, an attendant holding the door, the lights of the hillside town behind.

Compliance

Accessibility audits

WCAG audits of the systems citizens have no choice but to use, with the fixes specified rather than only flagged.

For Designers in the Region

We're building a design hub in the Northeast.

Talent is not the constraint in the Northeast. Access is. We're building the network, the standard and the body of work that keeps designers here — on real products, paid properly, credited publicly. Three ways in.

Four designers at work in a studio: one leaning back laughing, one crouched and pointing at a screen, one writing on a glass panel, one sketching in a notebook.
Route 01

Join a project

Staffed on live client work at an agreed rate, alongside our team. Reviewed, credited, paid on delivery.

Route 02

Bring work in

Introduce a business that needs design. We take scoping, proposal, pricing, contract and collection. If it closes, you are on the project team.

Route 03

Build the standard

Portfolio reviews, mentorship and published work — so the bar is set here rather than imported from Bangalore.

Where We Work

One studio, five markets.

Bengaluru, Northeast India, Munich, Dubai and Denver each have their own page — the work we've done there, the people, and how to reach us. Pick a market.

Questions

Straight answers,
before the call.

The six things people in Northeast India ask before they write to us. If yours isn’t here, ask it.

01

Parallax is a brand, product and frontend design studio that builds the brands and apps the companies of Northeast India run on — for real-estate developers, hospitality groups, pharma companies, educational institutions and the state governments of the eight states. A lead based in the region runs workshops and reviews in person, and each project gets a dedicated team built out from our Northeast hub.

02

Yes. Parallax designs citizen service portals, tourism and permit systems, scheme and benefit tracking and internal dashboards for state departments, with accessibility audits to WCAG 2.1 AA and a design-system handover so the next vendor can continue the work.

03

Our lead in the Northeast runs discovery, workshops and presentations on the ground, and the dedicated project team is built out from the Northeast hub — so reviews, workshops and calls happen in your hours, in your time zone. Discovery starts on a call or WhatsApp, and a visit is a planned trip, not a long-haul one.

04

Parallax scopes each project rather than quoting from a rate card, and starts by questioning the brief. A brand identity with one digital touchpoint and a complete brand system with product UI are the two most common engagements; both are priced in rupees for the Indian market and quoted after one call.

05

Four sectors sit at the centre of the practice: real estate, from launch sites to owner portals; hospitality and tourism, with direct booking and guest apps; pharma, with compliant product and partner interfaces; and education, with admission, learning and alumni platforms — plus the government band above.

06

Email projects@parallaxorg.com or message the studio on WhatsApp with what you're building. Parallax starts by questioning the brief on one call, no deck. If it isn't the right studio for the work, it will say so and point you to one that is.

We start by questioning the brief. One call, a lot of questions, no deck. If we're not the right studio for it, we'll say so and point you at someone who is.
